Housing lottery nearing end for eight units in Allerton, rent starts at $2,092

Less than two weeks remain to apply for a housing lottery for eight units in a residential building at 2951 Wallace Ave. in Allerton.

The 6-story building has 36 housing units, with 28 being at market rate. All eight of the units set aside in the housing lottery are intended for those earning 80% of the area median income and with an asset limit of $129,600.

Four of the apartments in the housing lottery are one-bedroom units, which can each fit up to three people. The monthly rent is $2,092. The annual household income must add up to $81,326-$116,640.

The other four apartments are two-bedroom units, which are capable of housing up to five people. Rent for one of these units is $2,419 a month. Those residing in one of these units must combine to earn $97,852-$140,000 a year.

Each unit has air conditioning and hardwood floors. Tenants will be responsible for electricity, including the heat, stove and hot water.

Other amenities include assigned parking spaces, security cameras, an elevator and nearby outdoor areas. Smoking is not allowed in the building.

The property is within close proximity to the Burke Avenue and Allerton Avenue subway stations, which both provide service for the 2 and 5 trains, as well as bus stops for the Bx8, Bx25, Bx26, Bx30, Bx39, BxM11, 60, 61 and 62 lines. Other notable nearby features include Bronx Park, the Parkside Playground, the Zimmerman Playground and P.S. 76 The Bennington School.

The residential building was designed by Angelo Ng and Anthony Ng Architects and developed by Long Lin.
