Bronxites celebrate Halloween with 37th annual parade

On Saturday, Oct. 22, Community Board 2 hosted its annual Bronx Halloween Parade. The 37th iteration of the parade, considered the second largest Halloween parade in NYC, was met with sunny skies and creative costumes filling the streets of the South Bronx.

The parade kicked off on Southern Boulevard and Westchester Avenue heading south until eventually concluding at Dawson Street.

The event was hosted by comedian and actor Radel Ortiz, while state Assemblymember Amanda Septimo served as the parade’s grand marshal and City Councilmember Rafael Salamanca Jr. co-sponsored the occasion.

Following its conclusion, parade attendees gathered at Bill Rainey Park to enjoy an artist showcase featuring surprise celebrity guests, politicians, marching bands, costume contests with cash prizes and distribution of candy for all.
