Holiday Lights: 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Bronx Zoo

The Bronx Zoo is hosting nights of family-friendly holiday festivities this weekend. From Nov. 18 to Jan. 8, enjoy an immersive light display with custom-designed animal lanterns and animated light shows across the zoo. The celebration includes festive entertainment, seasonal treats, classic holiday music, and more. This event is open to the public, and interested participants can buy tickets here

BronxRockets Community Run/Walk Group: 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at Mullaly Park

Join the BronxRockets in their weekly Saturday morning walk. All skill levels are welcome at the “go at your own pace” event. Saturday morning, the group will also collect canned goods and non-perishables for donation this season.  Masks are required for those not fully vaccinated. Gather Around the Holiday Log Fire: 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at the Van Cortlandt Nature Center

Join the Urban Park Rangers for an afternoon of fun traditional fireside activities at Van Cortlandt Nature Center. Attendees will get to engage with stories, songs and much more at this holiday themes event. This event is free and open to the public. Interested participants can read more about this event here

Birding for Owls: 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Pelham Bay Park

This Saturday, enjoy an afternoon of observing owls in Pelham Bay Park. Winter is one of the best times to spot owls as well as an abundance of wildlife in New York City.
