41 Precinct

Thursday, April 19 at 1 p.m. — Cops are looking for an individual who followed an 80-year-old man into an elevator in his apartment building and then robbed him. The incident was reported to police as taking place inside a building near Bryant Avenue and Aldus Street. The individual and the man were in the elevator near the fourth floor when the individual struck up a conversation with his victim. He then pushed the elderly man to the lift’s wall and took $300 in cash from his pocket. The individual cops are looking for is described as a male Hispanic who is about 30-years-old. He is approximately five feet, nine inches tall and weighs 170 pounds.

42 Precinct

Tuesday, May 8 at 10:50 p.m. — Cops received a report of a robbery that took place at a juice bar located at 3748 Third Avenue. An unidentified individual walked up to the cash register, handed the cashier a black plastic bag and told the employee: “give me the money!” The employee, fearing for safety, complied with the demand and placed $700 in the bag. The individual then fled with the cash. The individual is described as a black man of moderate skin tone with a graying beard. He is about six feet tall and is bald. He was last scene wearing eye glasses, a dark-color T-shirt, black pants and gray sneakers.

44 Precinct

Tuesday, May 8 at 10:06 p.m. – Police took a report of a pellet gun shooting involving a mother and her daughter. According to a report, a 37-year-old woman and her nine-month-old daughter both suffered minor wounds to the body after being shot with a BB gun in front of 176 E. 174th Street.

EMS responded to the scene. Both mother and daughter were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where they were treated and then released. A third victim, a 33-year-old man, also sustained a pellet gun wound to the right foot and was transported to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition. Two individuals are reported to have been involved in the incident. One was a man with short dark hair, a tan complexion and medium build. He was last seen wearing a gray Nike hooded sweat jacket, gray sweatpants, white t-shirt, and white Nike sneakers. The second was a man last seen wearing a multi-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and black sneakers.

49 Precinct

Tuesday, April 24 at 7:16 p.m. — Cops responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist struck at Boston Road and Bronxwood Avenue. When they arrived on the scene, officers found a 30-year-old motorcyclist lying on the roadway with severe head trauma. EMS responded to the location and transported the man to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on Sunday, April 29.

According to a subsequent investigation, the man, who was riding the Suzuki Supermoto motorcycle tried to overtake a 2010 BMW from the driver’s side as the driver was making a left turn. The motor bike operator wasn’t wearing a helmet. The BMW driver remained on the scene.
