City launches housing lottery for units in Fordham apartment building, rent starts at $3,234

New York City has launched a housing lottery for seven units at 372 East 194th St. in Fordham.

Located at 368-372 E. 194th St., the apartment complex consists of two 5-story buildings, one with 10 units and the other with 8 units. Of the 18 total units, 11 are market rate, while the other seven have been set aside for those earning 130% of the area median income.

Six of the units set aside are one-bedroom, with a monthly rent of $3,234. Up to three people can reside in each unit, with the residents required to earn a combined annual income ranging from $110,880-$181,740.

The last unit deemed affordable is a two-bedroom, with a monthly rent of $3,811. It is intended for households of up to five people. The combined annual income required for residents to live in this unit is $130,663-$218,010.

The building includes a shared laundry room. Tenants will be responsible for electricity, including electric stove, heat and hot water. Pets are permitted.

Those who intend to apply for housing at 372 East 194th Street Apartments must meet the housing and income size requirements. New York City residents who apply will receive a general preference for the units. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online by Oct. 16. Qualified applicants will also be required to meet additional selection criteria.
