The Easter Eggstravaganza was held on Saturday, April 6 with roughly 4,000 attendees. Throggs Neck Community Alliance, led by Angela Torres, partnered with Detective Hannah Rivera from the 45th Precinct Community Affairs, as well as a variety of sponsors, to provide the free event to the community.
Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities like the 15,000 Easter egg hunt, performances, photobooth, carnival games, DJ, bounce houses, magic show, balloon animals, caricature artist, face painting, food and free giveaways. Two added benefits included free Easter baskets and candy that were given to each child upon entry, plus an egg and spoon race with special guest participants Congressmember Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson.

The executive director of Throggs Neck Community Alliance stated, “This event was a tremendous success because it shows that when community members gather together with Community Affairs, elected officials, businesses, sponsors and a team of volunteers, we can collaborate to build community together and create large scale events that will create memories for families that will last a lifetime.”
