Notable Passing
The Throggs Neck Benevolent Association wishes to inform the community of the passing of Mario Garofalo, a longtime fixture of the Throggs Neck community who operated a Mario’s Barber Shop at East Tremont and Randall avenues for many years.
Mario was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and selfless friend to many people in our community.
Bronxite caddying for summer in Chicago
This summer Mount Eden resident Francisca Kwakye is a participating in the 7th Annual Western Golf Association’s Caddie Academy.
The academy is open to 90 high school females who will caddie in participating clubs in and around Chicago.
The program provides female teens access to an opportunity to caddie, and after completing the program, they are to apply for a college scholarship.
