Friday, February 19, 5:35 p.m. — A 23-year-old man was the victim of a stabbing after a dispute on a northbound subway train at the East 149th Street and 3rd Avenue subway station. The perpetrator, a Hispanic man, roughly 45-years-old and weighing about 190 pounds, stabbed the victim with a sharp object. The perpetrator wore a black skull cap, a gray waist length jacket, eye glasses and was carrying a cane.

Friday, March 4, 6:38 a.m. — Officers found someone needing medical attention when they responded to a 911 call for an assault near Castle Hill and Seward avenues. When they got to the scene, the officers encountered a 36-year-old man with a stab wounds to his torso, leg and back. There was also a 30-year-old male with a stab wound to his right thigh. The 36-year-old died after being taken to Jacobi Medical Center.

Tuesday, March 1, 10:30 p.m. — A 28-year-old man was found unconscious at Elm Avenue and East Fordham Road.
He was brought by ambulance to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation following the incident showed that the man had stab wounds to his torso and was a homicide victim.

Wednesday, February 24, 2:47 p.m. — A crime of opportunity occurred when a thief took a 27-year-old woman’s purse when she left it unattended inside a Burlington Coat Factory location at 2543 Webster Avenue.
The thief, who was part of a group of three, fled the store with the purse, which contained a debit card and about $250 cash.
