Not On My Watch, Inc. hosts human trafficking awareness workshop

The Bronx-based organization Not On My Watch, Inc., which works to educate, equip, engage and empower women and girls to lead successful and safe lives, held a human trafficking awareness prevention workshop on Monday, Dec. 23 at the organization’s empowerment center, located at 811 Allerton Ave.

The event aimed to break the silence surrounding sex trafficking, empowering attendees to raise awareness and take action both within and beyond the Bronx.

Attendees had the chance to share firsthand or secondhand experiences related to sex trafficking. They also received information about human trafficking hotlines and how to report suspicious activity.

The workshop also addressed topics such as the differences between human smuggling and human trafficking, common locations for human trafficking in the United States, and more.
