The Joseph H. Wade Academies hosted a back-to-school event in its yard at 1865 Morris Ave. on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Bronx parents who attended received school supplies, popcorn, cotton candy, and other food and drinks, and they participated in raffles and games.
Multiple community organizations were represented at the event to offer assistance and guidance. These included Legal Hand Bronx, MetroPlus Health, the New York City Department of Sanitation, Knockerball NYC, BronxWorks, Essen Health Care, the Office of Council Member Pierina Sanchez, the New York Public Library, and many others.
Using its “Foam Cannon,” Knockerball NYC created a foam party for the kids. Their amplified speaker also allowed attendees of all ages to enjoy and even perform music.
MetroPlus Health gave out bags full of school supplies from their table at the event.
