Doctors at Albert Einstein College of Medicine are looking for healthy couples in a monogamous relationship for at least six months to participate in a research study.
The purpose of this study is to see if a vaginal gel has activity against HIV and herpes in the laboratory in the presence of semen. The couple will be screened for sexually transmitted infections and have sex in a private room on two separate occasions.
Females will have a gynecologic exam and vaginal fluid collected and males will have a genital exam.
• Male volunteers will have three visits and be reimbursed $40 for each visit
• Female volunteers will have four visits and be reimbursed $60 for each visit
• Females must be using hormonal contraception
