Police are searching for two gunmen who are wanted in connection with a South Bronx shooting that left a 68-year-old man injured last month.

Police from the 40th Precinct report that an unidentified man was standing in front of the Popeye’s located at 845 East 149th St. when a second unidentified man fired a shot in his direction. The shot struck a 68-year-old bystander in the right arm, police said. The first unidentified man then returned fire at the shooter before both men fled the scene in an unknown direction.

EMS arrived at the scene and transported the bystander who was shot to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police on Jan. 18 released surveillance images of the suspects and described them as having “medium” complexions.
