Bronx Science 4 – Walton 3: After losing 15-5 to Walton (10-6) one day prior, the Wolverines (4-12) bounced back and surprised many on May 15, with a surprising win, thanks largely in part to a clutch two-RBI single from Samuel Polstein.  Benjamin Chu (7 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 K’s) picked up the win.  With the loss, Walton, which saw strong play from Joel Delorbe (1-for-2, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 2B, 1 sac) and Jesus Lantigua (6 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 K’s) drops into a two-way tie with DeWitt Clinton for second place in the Bronx A East Division.

Gompers 4 – South Bronx 1: Dominique Parra (7 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 13 K’s) pitched another gem, receiving help from Antonio Mateo (2-for-4, 1 R) and Juan Hilario (1-for-3, 2 RBI’s, 1 2B) to increase Gompers’ record to 11-5; good enough for a third place finish in the Bronx A West Division.  South Bronx ends their season with a respectable 6-10 record.

Columbus 8 – Evander 3: Columbus (3-13) struggled all year, but surprised Evander (7-9), backed by a solo home run blast from Kevin Paula (1-for-3) and strong offense from Albert Pinero (2-for-3, 3 R, 2 2B’s), and Stanley Susana (2-for-4, 2 R, 1 RBI) in a rare win on May 14.  Evander responded with a 10-0 win over Columbus on May 17, as Ariel Suriel (5 IP, 11 K’s) ended the season on a respectable high note.

Jane Addams 10 – Morris 3: Addams (14-2) ends the regular season in first place in the B Division, overcoming a Morris home run from Idaury Peralta with two of their own from Jimmy Bermudez (3-for-3, 3 R, 1 2B, 1 HR) and Steven Mendez (2-for-5, 2 R, 2 RBI’s, 1 2B, 1 HR).  Gabriel Lebron (3-for-5, 1 R, 1 RBI) also played strong in the hard fought victory.  Alexis German (7 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 7 K’s) picked up the win.  Morris dropped to 13-3 on the year and into second place.

Truman 4 – Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy 3: The Mustangs (12-4) evened things up with Riverdale (12-4) in a tie for third place in the Bronx B Division with offensive support from Julio Reynoso (2-for-2, 1 R, 1 RBI) and Lee Sosa (2-for-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 2 SB).  Geovanny Familia, Jr. (7 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 4 BB, 4 K’s) picked up the big win, as Truman heads into the playoffs.
