Borough Native Works On U.S. Navy ‘Fleet Readiness’
Petty Officer 1st Class Cherono Jackman is a U.S. Navy aviation support equipment technician serving her country at the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest in California.
Jackman was a 2007 Truman High School graduate.
As part of her job, she provides maintenance on equipment that helps support aircraft missions.
The U.S. Navy reports that she said of her position: I enjoy the camaraderie within the aviation support equipment technician rating.
She believes that her current position allows for flexibility and opportunity to grow both professionally and personally, and that her proudest accomplishment was obtaining the rank of petty officer first class, according to the U.S. Navy.
Jackman added of her time growing up: I learned the importance of perseverance growing up.
