The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of the long-term closure of the Exit 50 ramp from westbound Bruckner Expressway (I-278) to westbound Bruckner Boulevard/Hunts Point Avenue in the Bronx, on or about the night of April 4 through the morning of April 19.

Motorists wanting to access westbound Bruckner Boulevard/Hunts Point Avenue from westbound Bruckner Expressway (I-278) during this temporary closure should take Exit 51 (Bronx River Avenue) and follow the signed detour.

This closure is needed to facilitate work on NYSDOT’s $442 million Hunts Point Interstate Access Improvements Project.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in the work zone. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.

Inclement weather could cause this closure to be rescheduled.
