42 Precinct

Sunday, July 8 at 3:45 p.m. — Cops received a 911 call of an auto collision involving a pedestrian struck in front of 1146 Hoe Avenue. Responding officers encountered EMS providing emergency assistance to a 66-year-old man who was unconscious. The male pedestrian had head trauma. EMS responded to the scene and took the man to Lincoln Hospital, where he died two days later. The NYPD collision squad investigation found that man had been crossing Hoe Avenue when he was hit by a silver Hyundai Santa Fe that was traveling in reverse, opposite the direction of traffic. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

45 Precinct

Wednesday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m. — An individual fired several shots into a 41-year-old man, hitting him in the torso and left hand, and grazing his head. The victim was getting into a minivan when he dropped to the ground, rolled several times and appear to try to flee. The individual exited a four-door Nissan sedan and ran after the victim, shooting at the man. He then ran back to the car. The individual is described as a black man who was last seen wearing a light colored cap, a black-hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored pants with black and white sneakers.

48 Precinct

Thursday, July 10 at 9:35 p.m. — Police got a report of burglary near E. 189th Street and Belmont Avenue. An unidentified man entered the residence of a 72-year-old man by breaking a door with a metal rod. The man took several pairs of shoes and fled. He is described as an Hispanic wearing a gray tank top, dark colored shorts, dark blue hat and carrying a black pipe.

52 Precinct

Monday, July 9 at 7:50 p.m. — An approached a 35-year-old woman as she jogged in a wooded area of the Bronx River Forest Park. When the individual caught up with her, he got behind her, placed his hand over her mouth and his arm across her chest, while attempting to pull her backwards. The victim fought him off, yelled for help as she ran further into the park. The victim encountered the individual a second time as she made her way out of the park and managed to take his picture with her cellular phone. The victim fled the park and the individual remained there. She suffered minor injuries and was treated by EMS. The individual is described as an Hispanic man, 17- to 25-years-old, with a slim build, wearing a white hooded sweater, a black shirt, black shorts and white sneakers.
