Sunday, February 28, 11:28 p.m. — Police responded to a call of a man struck by a car at McGraw Avenue and Unionport Road. When they arrived on the scene they found a 33-year-old man unconscious in the street. He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The car that struck him remained on the scene until the police arrived.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the deceased man was lying in the street, in the left lane of Unionport Road, when he was struck by a car attempting to pass a double-parked vehicle.

44 Precinct

Saturday, February 6, 9:05 p.m — A robbery occurred when a 26-year-old man was speaking on his cellular phone while riding a subway train near an East 161st Street station. He was talking on the phone when a perpetrator snatched it out of his hand and ran out onto the station with seven other people. The victim tried to confront the assailants, but got beat up.

The group punched the victim and tried to steal his wallet too, before fleeing with the phone. Police are looking for a thief who is 18-years-old, black and weighs about 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a hoodie with white strings, gray sweatpants and white sneakers.

Saturday, February 27, 1:18 a.m. – A robbery occurred when a black man, about 24-years-old, approached a 18-year-old man inside of a deli at 1225 Webster Avenue with a gun.

The suspect demanded anything of value from the victim and took two cellphones, a watch and $450 in cash. When he ran away, he fired one shot in the victim’s direction, but missed.

52 Precinct

Friday, February 12, 1:50 p.m. — A robbery occurred when a perpetrator forced himself into an apartment at 3433 Dekalb Avenue. He took electronics and fled. He is described as a male Hispanic between 30- and 40-years-old. The suspect was last seen wearing a black coat, black pants, black sneakers and a multi-colored winter hat.
