Man shot and killed in Baychester

A man was shot and killed in Baychester during Labor Day Weekend.

According to the NYPD, on Sept. 5, at 12:58 p.m, police responded to a 911 call for a person shot in front of 3001 Eastchester Road. Upon arrival, officers found a 39-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the head.

EMS transported the victim toJacobi Hospital where he was pronounced dead. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
