Golden Krust Celebrates Founder, Leader

The third annual National Jamaican Patty Day remembered the late Golden Krust founder and leader Lowell Hawthorne one year after his tragic passing on Saturday, August 4 at the franchise’s first location at 1381 E. Gun Hill Road. Hosted by the King of Caribbean Comedy Majah Hype, the special occasion featured a live musical performance by famous singer, songwriter and rapper Sean Kingston and DJ Madout; cooking demos; free health screenings; giveaways; games; a photo booth; exhibits and a Golden Krust patty eating contest.
