FIAME Hosts 35th Annual Awards Gala

The Forum of Italian American Educators celebrated its 35th annual FIAME Awards and Dinner Dance on Friday, April 12 at Villa Barone Manor. This year’s honorees included Thomas G. Giordano Leadership in Education Award recipients Dr. Noelle Beale, Catholic School Region Region of Central Westchester regional superintendent and Andrew Pallotta, NYS United Teachers president; Michael Tomasetti Administrator’s Award recipients Theresa Durante Bivona, St. Clare’s School principal and Angelo Ledda, Jr., M.S. 363 principal; Excellence in Teaching Award recipients Rosemary DeMaio, Preston High School Foreign Language Department chairwoman and Jillian Salerno, P.S. 83 Math staff developer; Andy Galdi Special Education Award recipients Roxanne Olivo, NYC Department of Education Bronx Borough Office Specialized Student Support lead and Susan Amore Lembo, P.S. 108 Visual & Special Education teacher; Dominic Capone FIAME Service Award recipient Laura Guerriero, Bronx Times Reporter publisher; Philip J. Abinanti Community Service Award recipient the late Theodore Rivera, Jr., dedicated service to the students, parents and District 11 community: P.S. 83 & M.S. 144 and Donation Award recipients Theodore Rivera, Jr.’s family.
