Celina Colon, a native of Aibonito, Puerto Rico who resided in Bedford Park died on Monday, February 9. She was a devoted mother to Camilo and Mayra Estevez and beloved grandmother to Giovanni Estevez and Leilani Suarez. She will be remembered for her acts of kindness, strength of character, courage in the face of adversity and her devotion to God. We love you, Mommy.
100th birthday
On Sunday, February 15, our mom, Jane Packes celebrated her 100th birthday. The celebration began on Valentine’s Day while attending her granddaughter Amanda’s wedding. At midnight Amanda and her groom Mark honored mom with a birthday cake, along with a heartfelt dedication, which did not leave a dry eye in the room.
The next morning, our mom was once again honored by family and friends at a birthday brunch at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hauppauge, N.Y.
Our mom is truly a role model for all of us, showing us the true meaning of living life filled with love and family.
