New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi and Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson joined NYC Department of Education officials and anti-hunger advocate organizations to celebrate the start of NYC’s free summer meals program, promote summer meal sites and reward children with Yankee game tickets for making healthy choices. Summer meals sites include Queens’ Corona Plaza and Corona Park Zoo, the Bronx’ Roberto Clemente State Park and NYC’s Sara D. Roosevelt Park. Each site will serve breakfast weekdays from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
