The Tedsmooth Freestyle Jam

DJ Tedsmooth, of 94.7 The Block in NYC is known as the “Remix King” for his inventive and infectious remixes of popular songs. For decades, he has brought houses down at Latin and hip-hop clubs throughout New York City and Internationally. For this year’s festival, he brings to the Bronx’s Crotona Park a crew of legendary DJs and artists proficient in the decidedly NYC genre of freestyle—an upbeat style of electronic dance music particularly popular with Puerto Ricans and Italians that dominated clubs in the ’80s. Performers include Coro, C-Bank, DJ Serg, Anthony Mangini, remixer, JAYBOOGIENYC and Strafe.

Maira’s Marvelous Maps

Ghanafest is returning for its 15th annual public installation and celebration of Ghanian culture and heritage. The headliner of this year’s event is King Promise, an Accra-born artist who has become one of the most sought-after names in highlife and Afrobeats music. The event will also include performances by Dan Price the Artist and DJ Faddah.

The Bronx has the beat! Summer Concert Series in the Bronx continues this Saturday at Fordham Plaza. International recording Salsa artist Luisito Rosario will be performing a high-energy style of Latin music for all who attend. This outdoor concert is free for all.

Woodlawn Vaudeville and Jazz Greats Trolley Tour

Join the fun with a trolley tour visiting the final resting place of the Vaudeville and Jazz Greats at Woodlawn Cemetery. Planned stops on the tour include George M. Cohan, Nora Bays, Duke Ellington and more. The music of these musicians will be played during the tour on a Victrola. Take a step back in time with host Michael Cumella, aka DJ MAC, and join Woodlawn for the Jazz Age.
