End of Season Color Theme: 5 p.m.-10 p.m. at Jardin de la Roca
Jardin La Roca is holding a music and color theme event to celebrate the end of the gardening season. Everyone is invited to bring a dish to share and wear something that matches their dish. The garden is located at 422 E. 160th St., and the event is free.
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare at the Bronx Shakespeare Festival: 7 p.m.-8:45 p.m. at the Amphitheatre at Lehman College
Join Lehman College at their 20th anniversary inaugural production of Romeo and Juliet. Hosted in the college’s outside amphitheater, the production is 90 minutes and free, although reservations are required. The event is the one of the four performances, with the last one on Saturday at 3 p.m. Get your tickets here.

Annual Open House Street Festival: 1 p.m.-7 p.m. at Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center
The Annual Open House Street Festival returns for its sixth year at Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center. The free event includes performances from dance groups, the Mind-Builders Creative Arts Stage Band, zumba classes, talent competitions that offer prizes, and scholarship opportunities. No pre registration is required.
Sunday, Sept. 17
Bronx Park East Farmers Market and Farm Share: 9 p.m.-4 p.m. at Bronx Park
Stop by for fresh produce, herbs and other homemade goods. Running every Sunday until Nov. 12, vendors come from local farms across the area, including from some community gardens in the city. The market is completely volunteer-run and includes various exciting waste management programs like composting and textile recycling.
The Bronx Collab features author Mercy Tullis Bukhari: 3 p.m.-6 p.m. at 3866 White Plains Road
Join the Bronx Collab and local author Mercy Tullis Bukhari for the launch of her newest poetry book “The Little Deaths” at 3866 White Plains Road on Sunday. The Bronx-born writer with Honduran and Jamaican roots explores themes of womanhood, motherhood, sexuality and others in three of her published works: “Smoke,” “Mango,” and now “The Little Deaths.” Multiple people are scheduled to give readings at Sunday’s event. Participants are encouraged to donate a school supply gift to the space for the back-to-school drive.
