The Bronx-based nonprofit Theory 9 held its annual holiday celebration, Joy Fest, on Friday, Dec. 20, at the Marie Curie High School for Medicine, Nursing and Health Professions, located at 120 W. 231st St. in Kingsbridge.
This festive event featured numerous activities for attendees to enjoy, including raffles, toys, treats, various games and more.
Several community leaders and organizations partnered with Theory 9 to organize this fun event. This includes New York City District 14 Council Member Pierina Ana Sanchez, Catrock Ventures, Toys for Tots, Community-Police Relations Foundation Charity and Boost Mobile.
Founded in 2019, Theory 9 prioritizes the growth and well-being of those in the Kingsbridge community. The organization hosts many basketball tournaments, neighborhood school drives and holiday events each year, including Joy Fest. Theory 9 works to introduce knowledge, self-worth, love and connecting all aspects of life while also providing education to youths in Bronx communities that are underserved.
