SBHC’s Dr. Salcedo Receives Award

Dr. Salcedo spearheaded the creation of the very successful Healthy Beverage Zone project that was launched borough-wide to encourage individuals and institutions to limit consumption of surgery drinks and sports drinks in the interest of combatting childhood obesity, liver disease and diabetes.

Dr. Vanessa Salcedo, a pediatrician on staff at St. Barnabas Hospital and Union Community Health Center, has received the 2019 Young Physician of the Year Award from the National Hispanic Medical Association.

The award goes to individuals who have made a significant contribution to Hispanic health through their continued work as young physicians of NHMA.
