Saint Barnabas High School (SBHS) students collected children’s books ranging from pre-K to young adults as part of their “100 Acts of Kindness” in celebration of the school’s 100th anniversary, leading up to its Centennial Gala on April 25. The project was a huge success with over 400 books donated. The hope is to encourage a love a reading. The students believe that reading is knowledge and it is a gateway to learning, understanding of cultures, and opening minds about the world around them.

SBHS junior year representatives delivered books to Catholic Charities Homebase in the Bronx. Priscilla Torres, Catholic Charities Homebase Outreach supervisor, accepted the books that will be distributed to young readers through the Homebase agency.
