Police are investigating a fatal shooting of a Monroe Houses tenant. According to police, Nelson Ramos, 29, was shot before 4 a.m. on Sunday, January 6 following an argument with one or more people outide of the Monroe Houses. Police discovered Ramos with multiple gunshot wounds at 800 Soundview Avenue. He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. A nearby ShotSpotter gunfire detection device was activated during the incident. No arrests have been made in this ongoing investigation.
