Bronx community members and officers from across different New York City precincts joined the Morning Star Full Gospel Assembly for a community prayer at the subway station at 125th Street and Lexington Avenue on Friday, Feb. 21.

The Bronx church, in collaboration with community members and officers from Police Officers for Christ, aimed to provide spiritual support to the area’s large homeless population. Beyond offering prayers for those in need, the church and officers distributed food to both the homeless and the public at the station. Through these efforts, they hope to foster positive change within the community

With rising crime in New York City subways, many perpetrators are believed to be homeless or struggling with mental health issues. The Morning Star Full Gospel Assembly and Police Officers for Christ seek to pray for them, hoping they receive the support they need and, in turn, contribute to reducing crime in the subway system.
