An official caterer for the N.Y. Yankees and one of the Bronx’s hidden treasures continues to service their fine dining and Italian cuisine.
Operating for over 25 years, Luca’s Family Pizza, located 2922 Bruckner Boulevard, has become a Bronx icon.
“We are not just about pizza, we provide heroes, and pastas,” said manager Martina Vidas. “We have a large selection of choices at reasonable prices.”
The gold and red themed and exposed brick restaurant draws customers in to the inviting atmosphere that compliments the home cooked and freshly prepared food.
“I have been coming here for over 25 years, and the food is out of this world,” said Peter Lanaro. “I have been a customer since Lucas opened on Crosby Avenue. When it moved, I followed it here. Whenever I am in town, I make sure to stop here.”
Luca’s provided catering to Yankee Stadium and Citi Field.
“During the season we get calls from Joe Girardi looking for our food. We cater for all sorts of events, from family events to corporate meetings to 150 person weddings,” said Vidas.
Giving the family an incentive to gather around the table once again, free delivery is available and specials are regularly offered. A student special is available for neighborhood youth, giving kids a slice and soda for only $2.50.
“Everything is prepared by us, seasoned by us, and cooked by us,” said Vidas. “I happen to think that my food is very good and I want to people to come in and give it a try.”
Luca’s Family Pizza is open 7 days a week, from 11 a.m. until approximately 9 p.m., but the hours remain flexible for customers.
