Police are searching for the crook who threatened a man with a knife before striking him in the head with a wooden stick and robbing him of his cellphone and cash in Kingsbridge Heights earlier this month.

Police from the 50th Precinct report that a 32-year-old man was walking near 2724 University Ave. — within the confines of the 50th Precinct — at approximately 3:15 a.m. on Jan. 1 when an unidentified man approached him. The crook proceeded to display a knife and struck the victim in the head with a wooden stick before snatching his cellphone and approximately $35 dollars, police said.

The crook then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction, according to authorities.

The victim refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

The NYPD on Wednesday released a surveillance image of the suspect, who was wearing ripped jeans and a black jacket with a grey hood pulled over his head.
