NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell Silver and Bronx Parks Commissioner Iris Rodriguez-Rosa joined NYC Department of Environmental Protection Bronx Borough Coordinator Effie Ardizzone, Councilman Rafael Salamanca, Community Board 2 district manager district manager Ralph Acevedo, P.S. 48 students and staff and residents to cut the ribbon for the newly renovated Hunts Point Playground on Wednesday, June 19. The project was funded with $2.6 million from Mayor de Blasio and a $730,000 allocation from DEP. The newly transformed playground features a renovated comfort station, new play equipment, safety surfacing, spray showers, fencing, seating areas and landscaping. Park goers explored the playground’s new patio area.
