Fatal Hit And Run In Morrisania

Police are on the hunt for a hit and run driver who struck and killed a 38-year-old man Monday evening in Morrisania.

According to police, David Pajarito-Mendez of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of East 162nd Street and Courtlandt Avenue at 9:30 p.m.

Pajarito-Mendez was pronounced dead on arrival by EMS after sustaining head and body trauma.

Witnesses reported seeing a black Jeep Cherokee leaving the scene, but it was not known if it was involved in the accident, police said.

The NYPD Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad has taken over the investigation.

No arrests have been made following Monday night’s incident.
