Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. held his annual Italian-American Heritage and Culture Month ‘Mese della Cultura Italiana’ celebration on Thursday, October 11 at the Bronx Zoo’s Schiff Family Great Hall.
This year’s honorees included Maltida Cuomo, wife of former Governor Mario Cuomo and mother of current Governor Andrew Cuomo; Dr. Michael Brescia, Calvary Hospital executive medical director and Patrick ‘Pat’ LaFrieda, Jr., Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors CEO.
Italian Heritage and Cultural Committee of NYC chairman and president Joe Sciame (l) presented Diaz with a poster commemorating the special occasion.
