Community Board 7 Salutes Local Veterans

Community Board 7 hosted its inaugural Soaring Heights Eagle – Wind Beneath My Wings Awards Ceremony and Veterans Breakfast on Friday, February 10 at Lehman College.

The event honored this year’s Soaring Heights Eagle Award recipients NYC Department of Veterans Services commissioner Loree Sutton; Air Force veteran Latisha Russaw; Veterans Affairs outreach coordinator Shawn Kingston; Air Force veteran Ayanna Ahmand; Navy veteran Anthony Rivieccio; Air Force veteran Tiffany Barker; Vietnam Marine veteran Stanley Scriven; Vietnam veteran Johnnie Wiiliams, Jr.; Army veterans Marco Bongioanni and Irvin Queen; Navy veterans Robert Eppich, Jr. and Joseph Bello; Vietnam Army veteran Johnnie Brooks; World War II Navy veteran Joseph Binder; veteran Michael Alford, Sr.; Army veteran Luis Soltero-Rodriguez; National Guard veterans Stephen Avallone and Jeffrey Hunter for their service to our country and their continued contributions to their communities

The board also honored Laurie Leitch; Ines Adan, VA director of Human Services; Selina Kingston; Dr. Stephannie Addo-Zuniga; Shelia Sanchez; veteran LaTanga Blair; Devin Wray-Scriven; Orlando Pellot; Dannette Queen; Robert Eppich, Sr.; Denise Major; Vicki Bello; Ana Williams and Christine Williams and veteran Hiawatha James Watts recognized as Wing Beneath My Wings Award recipients in recognition of their sacrifice in helping the Soaring Heights Eagle Award recipients reach their fullest potential.
