For the first time in many years the Salesian Eagles Soccer team handily defeated Cardinal Spellman with a score of 6-2 announced Salesian’s athletic director Christopher Beal.

“With last year’s appearance in the school’s first CHSAA “B” Championship game, we undoubtedly start the season with the target of conference favorites on our backs and kicking off the season to defeat our arch-nemeses and CHSAA power Cardinal Spellman is a terrific step in that direction” said, coach Danny Romero.

Junior sensation Tom Manz (Our Lady of Assumption/Country Club) capped off his hat trick with a penalty kick in the first half while Senior Josh Zumbado (Allerton) scored two goals and had an assist. Senior John DiMuro (St. Clare’s/Morris Park) finished an exceptional game with a goal and 2 assists.
