The Bronx’s most savory event series has kicked off with a bang to say the least.

Taste buds everywhere were in for quite the treat when the Bronx Night Market made its annual return to Fordham Plaza on Saturday, May 25.

As the scents of food from around the Bronx, city and world permeated throughout the temporarily converted transit hub, market-goers were in for a true treat when DJ Sabronxura took to the decks. Saturday’s live music provided a pleasant vibe to an already pleasant evening.

Just before the Bronx Night Market inked an impressive deal to be the citywide vendors for SummerStage, it also announced that this summer foodies would have more nights to enjoy the market, jumping from five to ten Saturdays this season.

Although it goes without noting, tons of Bronx food was also on display at the night market. The Bronx Burger Co. debuted with the Bronx Night Market, showcasing its maple bacon burger that’s heavenly taste could turn atheists into believers upon one bite. Offered by another Bronx food establishment, Fried Kitchen, where fully loaded potato waffles with fried chicken, a perfect fit for breakfast, lunch or dinner, in addition to many other of the borough’s greats. One out-of-towner, San Antonio’s Wood Fired Pizza brought a mobile brick oven to Fordham, supplying the best of pizza time. Bronx Native was also dishing out some of the Bronx’s most authentic apparel as well.
