AVP Honors Montefiore’s Lissette Marrero

Marrero’s relationship with AVP dates back to 1999 when she trained as a hotline volunteer taking phone calls from LGBTQ individuals in crisis. She now trains aspiring hotline volunteers to continue the lifesaving work.

Montefiore Medical Center’s Lissette Marrero, MSW, Adolescent AIDS Program deputy director, shown below, was honored with the Community Heroes Award from Anti-Violence Project, the nation’s leading organization serving New York’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and HIV-affected communities, on Thursday, April 28 at HBO Headquarters.
