Notable Passings

The Throggs Neck Benevolent Association informs the community about the following passings:

With shock and much regret, we inform you of the sudden passing of Hugh ‘Hughie’ Finnegan.

Hughie was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary and is survived by his cherished children, Eileen, Kelly, (John), Mary Ellen (Dino) and Erin (Shawn); and adored grandchildren Stephen, Dylan, Amanda, Avery, Kayla, Sophia, Bryce, Nicholas, Jake and Antonio.

The wake will be held on Friday, May 31 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m at Schuyler Hill Funeral Home. The funeral mass will take place on Saturday, June 1 at St. Frances de Chantal Church at 10:45 a.m.

Our very deepest condolences to the Finnegan family and to all that loved Hughie. May Hughie Rest in Peace. Thank you for your service to our country and for our city.

With regret, we inform you of the passing of Margaret ‘Margie’ Walsh. Margie is survived by her loving husband Jimmy; cherished son Kevin and daughter-in-law Lisa; and beloved grandchildren Ryan, Allie, Reilly Eileen and Sean.

Margie’s beautiful, perpetual smile with her full cheeks and sweet demeanor will long be remembered by all of those that had the privilege of knowing her.

Margie, the Matriarch of the Walshes took great pride in, and had boundless affection and devotion, to all of her family members. She treated everyone she encountered with kindness and respect.

Our very deepest condolences to the Walsh Family, we know that we will miss her warm presence. May Margie Rest in Eternal Peace.
