Seth Champlin, from Boy Scout Troop #333, has attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
His service project was building a memorial wall and garden for Throggs Neck Memorial Post #1456.
The wall included a listing of deceased veterans from the community. He also created an electric version of the memorial.
Seth earned earned 36 merit badges, 13 of which are the required Eagle badges.
He began as a cub scout when he was five-years-old and attending Villa Maria Academy. He is now 17-years-old.
Golden Wedding Anniversary
Carmela and Anthony Grieco Sr. will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, September 16, their daughter-in-law Victoria Grieco writes to the Bronx Times.
They are originally from the borough but have since retired to Temple, TX.
They still have the Bronx Times Reporter sent to them every week.
On September 16, 1967, Carmela and Anthony Grieco Sr. began their journey together. They found a friendship, raised a son, Anthony J. Grieco Jr., and built a beautiful marriage for 50 years.
Their son and his family want to offer their warmest wishes on this joyous occasion. Though they will always miss their dear friends and family in Throggs Neck, they are enjoying the balmier breezes of Temple, TX.
Serving his country
Bronxite Nicolas Affum is serving in the U.S. Navy as a Machinery Repairman 3rd Class.
He is pictured in the accompanying photo measuring a pipe aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz in the Arabian Gulf on Thursday, August 9.
While in this region, the ship and group are conducting maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, preserve freedom of navigation, and maintain the free flow of commerce.
