Births
Baby Matteo John Di Pierro was born at Lawrence Hospital on Saturday, April 8. The baby was born Melissa and Michael Di Pierro. He weighed eight pounds, 12 ounces.
Family was there to welcome Matteo John. Aunties Amanda Doran and Carolyn Doran were present for the birth, giving moral support to the mommy and daddy. Brother Michael, sister Rebecca and cousin Alessandra along with MiMa Carel Doran, PopPop Stan were waiting with open arms for the arrival of Matteo.
Everyone was so very anxious to see the new addition to the family.
Friends and family all came to welcome Matteo and congratulate Melissa and Michael with a lifetime of happiness and love.
White Plains Hosptial sent the Bronx Times the following birth announcement.
Ezra Williams Thames was born to Fletcher and Dasey Thames of Soundview. He weighed seven pounds and was born on Tuesday, July 25.
Youth leader
Anderson Estrella from Community Health Academy of the Heights recently completed the Youth Leadership Conference at Norwich University.
The conference is sponsored by the university and the Military Orders of World Wars.
The two-day program covers several topics including leadership, effective communication, the U.S. Constitution, The Bill of Rights, free enterprise, cyber security, what it means to be a solider and ethics. Anderson is the son of Xiomara Estrella and Wilton Estrella of Fordham.
