Changing Of The

Guard At Bronx Gop

John Greaney, Bronx Republican Party chairman, recently announced that he would be stepping down from his post as the county chairman.

The reason is 9/11-related health issues. The Bronx GOP announced that Chairman Greaney has decided to step back and dedicate his energies to leading a healthier life.

Greaney has been Bronx chairman since April 2013.

In a letter to the GOP’s executive committee, Greaney stated I will miss running at the fast pace we have set for our team, but you know, I will continue to be there to help our great Team in any way I can.

Michael Rendino was elected by the party’s borough district leaders as the new chairman.

Rendino is a commissioner of the Bronx Board of Elections, a retired New York City firefighter, chairman of the 161st Street Business Improvement District, and an owner and operator of Stan’s Sports Bar.

The executive committee also nominated Robert Siano to represent them as the Bronx Republican Commissioner on the NYC Board of Elections at the conclusion of Commissioner Rendino’s term.

Siano is an attorney in private practice who was the Republican Party’s candidate for Bronx District Attorney in 2015.
