Woman injures, steals $500 from a 79-year-old man in Kingsbridge

Police are looking for a woman that pickpocketed $500 from an elderly man in Kingsbridge earlier this month.

The NYPD reported that the theft occurred while a 79-year-old male was walking with the unidentified female in front of 65 W. 192 St. on Monday, May 4 at 2:20 p.m.

She then placed her hand inside his pants pocket, removed the $500 cash. Police reported that although the elderly victim grabbed her by the arm in efforts to stop the robbery, his efforts were unsuccessful.

Police said the woman then pulled away causing the victim to lose his balance and fall to the ground. The man was brought to the hospital with minor injuries.

The woman fled on foot in an unknown direction with the victim’s money within the 52nd Precinct.

Police described her as having a light complexion and medium build standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. They said that suspect in question has brown eyes and black hair.
