On Sunday, October 25, Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr., in collaboration with the Bronx Tourism Council, Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation, Montefiore Medical Center, St. Barnabas Hospital and Bronx Lebanon Medical Center, hosted the 21st annual ‘Tour De Bronx’. The event, which is the state’s largest free bicycling event, attracted over 7,000 cyclists from the tri-state area and beyond, who took part in either a 25-mile or 40-mile route that extended to Westchester County. Prior to the ride, NYC Department of Transportation distributed free bike helmets to cyclists. Following the ride, cyclists were invited to the festival portion of the event at the New York Botantical Garden, which featured live entertainment and refreshments.
