Birth Announcements

White Plains Hospital has notified the Bronx Times of the following birth announcements.

• Jaxon William Hernandez was born on Tuesday, November 1 to parents Katherine Cruz and Victor Hernandez of Pelham Bay. He weighed eight pounds and 15 ounces.

• Chase Richard Vargas was born to parents Claudia and Richard Vargas of Pelham Parkway on Thursday, November 3. He weighed seven pounds and nine ounces.

Attorney Honored

Hon. Josephine Bastone, a supervising referee of the Mortgage Foreclosure Conference part of Bronx Supreme Court, was honored on Saturday, November 12 as Woman of the Year at the NAACP Parkchester Branch’s annual Freedom Fund event.

Bastone, a past president of several bar associations and a community activist, serves on a number of cultural and civic boards.
