Bronxite rising in U.S. Navy
United States Navy Seaman Efrain Irizarry, a borough native, received his an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist certification on Wednesday, December 14 from Chief Petty Officer Sergio Perez.
The presentation took place aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island.
Makin Island is deployed as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group to the U.S. Fifth Fleet area of operation to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
