Crowley Honored By Ancient Order of Hibernians

The Bronx County Board of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians commemorated their annual Mass on Sunday, April 3 at St. Barnabas Church which was followed by a breakfast ceremony served at the Heritage Bar and Restaurant. Guest speaker Congressman Joseph Crowley discussed the 1916 Easter Rising in Ireland as part of his address and was presented with an award recognizing his support of the County and Division 3 Hibernians. At the recommendation of the four Bronx divisions, the County Board awarded $500 each to the Emerald Isle Immigration Center, St. Lucy’s Food Pantry, Throggs Neck Benevolent Association, RJM Haitian Relief Fund, and $250 each to the Sisters of Life and the Sisters of the Poor.
