Assemblyman Luis Sepulveda served as the keynote speaker for the 11th annual Community Education Council 11’s Legislative Breakfast on Friday, June 2 at the Eastwood Manor.
Sepulveda spoke of the hard work by legislators this session that added an extra $1.1 billion to the state education budget totaling $25.8 billion with $386 million going to schools in the Bronx and NYC.
He also praised the hard work of administrators and teachers across the city for a citywide high school dropout rate that fell to a low of 8.5% last year while the graduation rate rose to a historic 72.6% with the Bronx showing the highest improvement.
