Monroe University will open its doors to prospective students and their families on Saturday, Nov. 2, for an Admissions Open House at its Bronx campus. The event, which runs from 10:00 a.m. to noon, will provide attendees with the chance to tour the campus, learn about the university’s academic offerings, and meet with faculty, staff, and current students.
The Open House will take place in King Hall, located at 2501 Jerome Ave., just a block from the Fordham Road stop on the 4 train, with municipal parking available nearby. A separate Open House will be held on Nov. 16 for students interested in the New Rochelle campus.
Monroe University is aiming to attract a wide range of students, including high school seniors, transfer students and working adults. The university offers a variety of academic programs, including fully online degrees designed to provide flexibility for those balancing school with other responsibilities.
“We’re excited to welcome the next generation of Monroe students,” said Marc Jerome, president of Monroe University. “Our programs are designed to help students succeed in their studies and their careers, and we’re committed to providing the support they need to achieve their goals.”
Prospective students will have the opportunity to speak with admissions and financial aid representatives about the application process, tuition assistance and scholarships. Faculty members and academic leaders will also be on hand to discuss degree programs in fields such as Allied Health, Business, Criminal Justice, Education, Information Technology, and Nursing.
In addition to traditional degree programs, Monroe offers a pathway for students who have not yet earned their high school diploma. The university’s High School Equivalency Diploma program allows students to complete their diploma while working toward an associate degree.
Monroe, which has been part of the Bronx community for more than 90 years, is known for its strong focus on student support services. Attendees at the Open House will learn about tutoring, career readiness programs, and mental health resources available to help students navigate university life.
“We have a strong support system in place,” Jerome added. “Whether students need help adjusting to college or preparing for their future careers, we’re here to guide them every step of the way.”
Monroe University has garnered national recognition for its efforts to increase college access and boost graduation rates, particularly among first-generation students.
