The ‘Nostalgia Special,’ a vintage group of four subway cars, gave New York Yankees fans some pre-game fun as it made its way from Grand Central Station in Manhattan to the East 161st Street – Yankee Stadiums stop for opening day on Monday, April 6. The cars, originally used as part of the Interborough Rapid Transit system which was a forerunner to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, were in service from 1917 to the early 1960s. On April 6, they carried Yankee fans to the first game of the new baseball season.
